Home The Smartest Pool Heating Option

The perfect combination of performance, economical and reliable pool heating...
Selecting the pool heating can be confusing and a bit like a minefield. There's a lot to consider, running costs, effectiveness and durability. Below is a brief summary of the main pool heating options.
Solar Pool Heating : Traditional solar pool heating suits those who only want to swim a few extra weeks of the year. Solar is actually most effective when you need it the least (i.e. when its sunny and warm).
Keep in mind, the north-facing roof collector should be as large as your pool - for many pool owners, this is an unacceptable "eyesore" on the family home.
Gas Pool Heating: Gas suffers the downfall of very high running costs. Many owners are so shocked by their first gas bill, they often shut down the heater, heating only for "special occasions".
Once the heater is switched off, it tends not to be used again as most users don't plan their swims 12-24 hours ahead (the time required to re-heat the pool).
Heat Pumps : A year-round solution (unlike solar). Running costs are closer to those of solar pool heating than to the prohibitively expensive gas option.
They are so economical to run that owners don't mind leaving them to run quietly in the background. Your pool is ready when you are!

We summarise below our ratings (of the main factors) for the three heating types:
